The investment manager research (IMR) team oversees the fund managers of Canada Life’s mutual and segregated funds. They monitor, evaluate, and rate the funds and their managers. This helps to ensure the managers and funds on our platform are relevant and competitive so you can feel confident you are providing the right investment solutions to your clients.

On Oct. 3, 2022, Invesco announced that Avi Hooper (Senior Portfolio Manager, Fixed Income) is no longer with the firm. While Avi had portfolio management duties, he didn’t have any credit coverage responsibilities and the Canadian Fixed Income team will still be supported by the same analyst team. There are currently 14 credit research analysts that cover Canadian fixed income.

The other portfolio managers and analysts who have been responsible for this mandate are still in place. Matthew Brill, Todd Schomberg and Michael Hyman have been the PMs responsible for the fixed income strategy since early 2018. Invesco doesn’t anticipate any further changes to the team. The IMR team will continue to monitor the fund as a result of this announcement.

The fund’s benchmark, fee, investment objective and style remain unchanged and no action is required.
