The Investment Manager Research (IMR) team oversees the investment managers of Canada Life’s mutual and segregated funds. They monitor, evaluate and rate the funds and their investment managers. This helps to ensure the investment managers and funds on our platform are relevant and competitive, so you can feel confident you’re providing the right investment solutions to your clients.

Brandywine Global has added additional strength and resources to its portfolio management team via several promotions and transitions.

Brandywine Global’s Director of Global Macro Research, Francis Scotland will be stepping down from his role, effective June 2024. Scotland joined Brandywine Global in 2006 and drives the global macroeconomic research which supports the Global Fixed Income group's investment process, and provides investment ideas and strategic asset allocation recommendations. Over the coming year, Scotland will continue in his role and provide insights to the team, while Paul Mielczarski, Head of Global Macro Strategy, will take on more of Scotland’s management and client-related responsibilities. Mielczarski is currently responsible for providing proprietary global macroeconomic research to support the Global Fixed Income team’s investment process. Prior to joining Brandywine Global in 2023, he served as Director of Portfolio Strategy for two years at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan after working for five years as a portfolio manager.
