The Canadian core dividend team, who’s been managing these types of strategies for Canada Life since November 19981, examines the current market environment and the impact on investments. They review how dividends have proven to be a meaningful building block to total return over time and how the current market continues to support high-quality Canadian dividend equities. 

Effective Jan. 1, 2021, Mackenzie Investments assumed portfolio management responsibilities of the mandates as a result of the sale of GLC Asset Management to Mackenzie Investments. The team theat managed the funds transitioned to Mackenzie as a result of this transaction and continues to manage the funds. The portfolio management team has been managing core Canadian dividend strategies for Canada Life since November. 1998 with the Canadian Core Dividend Fund, previously known as Enhanced Dividend (Laketon), Generation Series segregated fund. While the Generation Series of this fund is soft-capped, and not available to new investors, there are additional segregated fund series available for purchase that have an inception date of October 2009. There are also and various mutual fund series available with inception dates going back to May 2020.
