Canada Life responds to London Children’s Museum’s urgent call for funding

Canada Life will match donations to the capital campaign up to $100,000

London, ON, October 16, 2024. . . Today, in response to the London Children’s Museum’s urgent call for funding, Canada Life announced they will be matching donations to the capital campaign between now and November 30 up to $100,000. This will bring Canada Life’s total support for the campaign to $250,000.

“We are so grateful to Canada Life, and to all the donors who’ve responded to our recent call,” said Kate Ledgley, Executive Director, London Children’s Museum. “The community support has been incredible, and we are thrilled to announce that today’s donation from Canada Life brings us to 80% of our urgent $1 million goal. With the community’s help in matching this gift, we’ll be able to reach our target.”

Canada Life has supported the Children’s Museum since it first opened in 1977. This latest donation comes at a crucial time, as the Museum is making a final fundraising push to open their doors by the end of 2024.

“The London Children’s Museum is a cornerstone of the community, which is why we’ve supported them since they first opened nearly 50 years ago,” said Fabrice Morin, President and Chief Operating Officer, Canada Life. “When we heard $1 million was urgently needed to complete their new state-of-the-art facility, Canada Life was ready to step up and help reach this milestone.”

“We are proud to be part of a tight-knit community in London that comes together to make a difference,” said Jeff Van Hoeve, Senior Vice-President, Business Integrations, Canada Life. “Canada Life will continue to support local organizations that make London a great place to live and work.”

The new London Children’s Museum is a $23 million project and with today’s announcement, nearly $20 million has been raised to date. To learn how you can contribute to the London Children’s Museum’s fundraising efforts, visit londonchildrensmuseum.ca
