Fort McMurray, AB, May 5, 2020. . . Canada Life has announced a $10,000 donation to the Canadian Red Cross – Fort McMurray & Area Flood Fund to provide humanitarian assistance to people impacted by the flooding in Fort McMurray, Alberta.
“Canada Life has stood with the resilient people of Fort McMurray in the past and will continue to do so as they experience yet another devastating natural disaster. We offer our sincerest condolences and support during this difficult time,” said Jeff Macoun, President and Chief Operating Officer, Canada at Canada Life. “We’re proud to make this contribution with our employees and their families in mind – especially those who live and work in Alberta. It’s our priority to provide help and humanitarian assistance to those impacted by area flooding.”
Through Fort McMurray & Area Flood Fund, the Canadian Red Cross is working to get help to people in affected flood areas and provide humanitarian assistance. This support will enable the Red Cross to provide relief, recovery, resiliency and risk reduction activities in and beyond the Fort McMurray region at the individual and community levels.
Canada Life continues their longstanding support for helping communities when they need it the most. In 2016, we contributed to the Canadian Red Cross Alberta Fires Appeal to support their relief efforts for those impacted by the wildfires in Fort McMurray. In 2019, we supported the Canadian Red Cross with their spring flood relief efforts in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and other regions in Canada.
